Tips for Cleaning Tile Grout in Florida Rental Homes!
Dirty tile grout can make the kitchen and bathrooms
in a rental look dingy, and give them a bad smell that can only be temporarily
masked with air fresheners. To get these areas looking and smelling nice and
clean again will require deep cleaning the grout. Plenty of companies that work
in property management St.
Augustine can recommend using the following tips to do so!
- A steam cleaner can be useful for cleaning areas that have ceramic tile and grout. The extremely hot jets of clean water produced by this machine can melt away grime and soap scum, while killing bacteria and mildew. Many steam cleaners will also come with a pad attachment that is good for mopping large, tiled spaces.
- The grout can be cleaned with a wide variety of cleansers. One of the most popular consists of a combination of white vinegar and baking soda. The soda is scattered onto the grout, and the vinegar is poured on top of it. A bubbling action will commence, and then the scrubbing can begin. The acetic acids in the vinegar will break down the soil, and the soda will absorb it and any odor-causing particles.
- A small toothbrush with medium-strength bristles will suffice for scrubbing the grout manually. It is not advised to use an old toothbrush, because its bristles may be too worn to remove the dirt from the grout. Using a brush with wire bristles is also not recommended, because the wires could tear holes in the grout.
